Title: Mini implants as an alternative to bone grafts

Abstract

Mini Implants were designed for provisional restorations during the healing phase for complex implant surgeries. However these implants have benefited from researches on conventional implants and there design, surface and abutment are similar to the conventional one. The small diameter (less than 3 mm) allow to use it in very narrow ridges and therefore avoid to plan bone grafts especially on the elderly patients. During this lecture I will emphasize on the biological concept and show many restorations done with mini implants (denture stabilization and fixed prosthesis) with an outcome of 10 to 15 years.
